Disappointing: at night it will always be backlit, there's no way to switch the light off as it's only on / off function is a light sensor...so for most of us that means we won't want it in the bedroom and where else would you use an alarm clock! Also the date is in US format, which is rubbish.
Excellent clock and suits my husband who has poor vision. Easy to read characters and brilliantly backlit.
